HOBART STUDIO CAREER OPPORTUNITY – PROJECT ARCHITECT

Preston Lane is an award-winning design focused practice with offices in Melbourne and Hobart. We are a small to medium sized practice undertaking projects of varying size, complexity, and cost

We are currently working on a range of project typologies across both our Melbourne and Hobart studios including residential (new houses and renovations/extensions), commercial (office and small multi res), education, local government and heritage.

Our studio is a fun, relaxed, hard-working environment, and our close-knit team works together on all aspects of the architectural process. We support gender equity and diversity.

A full-time position is available in our Hobart studio for an exceptional Project Architect with 4-8 years’ post graduate experience, who has demonstrated skills in design, documentation, and delivery of high-end residential houses both new and renovations along with experience in medium scale commercial and commercial multi-residential projects. We are seeking a hardworking, easy-going, enthusiastic, and confident person that is looking to work as a key member of our team. You might be close to registration or have been registered in Australia and working as a Project Architect for several years.

This role will require you to work both independently and collaboratively with Directors and team members, on all stages of projects from feasibility, concept design, documentation, and detailing, through to contract administration. Most immediately we have several projects moving into the documentation phase so candidates must have proven documentation experience along with a passion for detailing and thorough knowledge of how a building goes together.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent Documentation skills (AutoCAD and Revit experience essential).
•  Exceptional technical knowledge, construction detailing including nutting our beautiful architectural details and drawing management skills.
•  Ability to confidently and independently co-ordinate and liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and builders.
• Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Sketchup.
