Commendation – Seaford Life Saving Club Design Competition

The redevelopment of the Seaford Life Saving Club provides an opportunity for the reconnection of the currently separated zones within the local community. The scheme looks at strengthening the east-west connections already provided by the rail corridor and residential area within this precinct by giving priority to pedestrian movement over vehicular traffic.

The interplay of light and heavy timber elements dictate the public and private spaces and provide a wind barrier to the south. The café sits elevated to the east addressing the street and dips to the west providing shelter for the occupants within.
